A Wave- Gussie Osborne

A Wave
by
Gussie Osborne

I sat on the beach and a beautiful wave
Came tumbling right up to me.
It threw some pink shells on the sand at my feet,
Then hurried straight back out to sea.
It ran away swiftly and leaped up in foam;
It bumped other waves in its glee.
I think it was hurrying to gather more shells,
To bring as a present for me.

    1. Isn't is beautiful?! I need to see the ocean, that's for sure! Even though I've never been to the ocean/sea (well, actually, does where we went on my birthday count??), but I've always felt a connection to it =) Maybe one of my great-great-great-great(x4-22 more greats) Uncles/Aunts/cousins/ etc. Died at sea, or maybe they were a great sea captain, or a well loved cabin boy... But either way, I feel attatched to the ocean, like it's calling me at times haha =D If it could tell stories, can you IMAGINE all the stories? The sea captains, the shipwrecks, the sea battles, the sunken treasures, the fish, the people.... SOOOO many stories! GAH, it's just so Wonderful! haha =D It's so myssterious, mischevious (I suppose that word fits! haha ), wonderful, and dangerous... Life bringing, and life taking... LOVE IT! =D yes, yes I am a mermaid at heart! =D
