Smile ♥

Can you do something for me right now? Yes, you. Can you smile for me?
If you did, I thank you deeply. The world needs more genuine smiles.

I've noticed over the last couple days how there is a constant absence of smiles in day to day life.

There is so much conflict, hate, drama, friction, and pain that it's hard to find the will to smile.

If we can try to smile through the tears and the pain, then it's my belief we can be better people, and make a better world.

Personally I find it very hard to smile sometimes, but I find that when I do smile, even if through tears, something in me seems to click, and I feel better.

So, do me a favor, and start smiling today? =)

Live. Learn. Love.

Committed Love

Just thinking about this over the last couple days. I've seen so many people lately who go on a date, and one goes to the restroom- or to pay the check, or somewhere not near their date, and one or the other start flirting with another person. When you're in a relationship, be committed or just stay single. The person you're with who's already attracted and faithful enough to be with you is hoping that you two will last. Don't be the one to lead them on and flirt with other people behind their back. If you didn't want to be in a relationship that you know you're not going to be committed to, then don't be in one at all. Simple.

Another thing: When you go on a date, it's to talk to the other person IN PERSON. It's to get to know them personally, or to strengthen the already existing relationship. You are NOT on a date so you can stare at your phones the whole time! Is your phone the one you're going out with? No? Well, then please pay attention to your date! They took the time out of their schedule to see YOU. Not the flip side of your phone. They want to talk to you, not hear you talking to or texting someone else. Pay attention to them!

People wonder why today's relationships are not going so great, or are non-existent. It's because they're interested in YOU (not your phone, Ipod, or other electronic.)

Adventure...What a Mysteriously Marvelous Thing!

Adventure. Heros/Heroines. Quests. Bows & Arrows. Swords.
These are all things that are part of myths. They are all things that we can imagine going on (Adventures & Quests), being (Heros/Heroines), and using (Bows, Arrows, & Swords).

Why is it that we want to go on Adventures so much? Not your "I'm going on an adventure in the Mall" but the real adventures. Across countries, through mountain passages, a fight for what is right, a battle against time, companionship at it's best and worst. Why is it that we long for adventures like those? Because in today's world, they are almost non-existent. With technology, you can click on Skype, and talk with someone thousands of miles away. Facebook chat enables you to send them a message for later viewing. Snapchat sends your picture for a few seconds. If you need emergency help, or need to be protected, you have the police, fire departments, hospitals, FBI, etc. all there to help out. The world has been almost entirely explored. So it feels like there is nothing left for "little ole us" to accomplish that hasn't already been done, or can be done better by someone else. & we already have instant contact with people countries away.

Why is it that part of our soul and mind hope and long for thing like dragons, fairies, elves, Hobbits, and things of myths? Why is it when exploring that old cave, our heart skips a little like a little kid's, and you can't help but wonder if there is such a place as Narnia, and maybe that if you explore hard enough, and long enough in that cave that we might discover the entrance? Or maybe the dragon's lair, brimming full of adventurers whom were long ago defeated, and all of the loot the dragon hoarded?

We want to feel like the world holds more meaning for us. We want to feel needed like Gandalf in Lord of the Rings. We want to defeat a great evil like Harry did in Harry Potter. We want to fight for a cause of greater good like Legolas in Lord of the Rings and William Turner in Pirates of the Caribbean (Ok, so William isn't as awesome as Legolas, but he's too awesome to be left out!). We want to have a mutual understanding with creatures unlike us, and yet so familiar to us like Hiccup and Toothless in How to Train Your Dragon.

So how do we come to terms with our adventure seeking spirits? For me, I know my adventuring spirit wants to at the very least see the world on my own. You can only learn so much through books, so I want to see what it looks like without photoshopped images. & what it feels like to me. if I can't explore the unknown, at least I can explore the "known" on my own, and travel over places that those whom did discover it traveled. I feel that this will feed my "adventurous appetite".

Another idea is to grab a backpack of supplies. No, not your Iphone, Ipod, Ipad, Tablet, Notebook Computer, Laptop, and Kindle. I'm talkin' necessities. Go find some abandoned train tracks. Follow them as far as they go! Or take a map, throw a dart at it, and travel on foot to where ever the dart lands! (if you hit the middle of a ocean, try for throwing for again for land ;) ) Then you can at least enjoy yourselves, and have a bit of "adventure".  Sometimes not knowing where you're headed to, but anticipating it are enough "adventure" to satisfy you. Or knowing you can start another adventure at the end of the tracks might spur you on too! ;)

Granted there won't be Elves, Dragons, or Pixies, so unfortunately if you're looking for a adventure that includes something like that, I can't help ya. But There are many ways to feed your adventuring spirit!  Each person has an individual "appetite" for Adventure. It's up to you to find your niche and go from there.

Whatever you decide to do, don't leave your adventurous soul starving. Feed it imagination. Feed it companionship/fellowship. Feed it adventure.

Happy Adventuring!

Good & bad- Life's 50-50 deal...

Life is a 50-50 wash. Light and dark, hot and cold, truth and lies, good and evil. One can not exist,or be truly appreciated without the other. Sometimes, you find pure joy somewhere in the middle. Sometimes not. It's the search that keeps us going. Keep focused on the Light.

Thinking of some friends whom are going through a tough time right now... Some have lost a loved one, and others are going through similar circumstances. I'm just hoping and praying thing turn brighter and more positive for them soon <3

More inspiring quotes!

Just a few more inspirational quotes! I needed a little something inspirational today (rough ending to a full day).
Hope they help your day along! =)
~Annabeth

“Courage. Kindness. Friendship. Character. These are the qualities that define us as human beings, and propel us, on occasion, to greatness.”
― R.J. Palacio, Wonder

I wish every day could be Halloween. We could all wear masks all the time. Then we could walk around and get to know each other before we got to see what we looked like under the masks.
"Wonder" by R. J. Palacio

"A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of his life, in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful which God has implanted in the human soul.”
― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

“If every person in this room made it a rule that wherever you are, whenever you can, you wil try to act a little kinder than is necessary - the world really would be a better place. And if you do this, if you act just a little kinder than is necessary, someone else, somewhere, someday, may recognize in you, in every single one of you, the face of God.”
― R.J. Palacio, Wonder

“Now that I look back, I don't know why I was so stressed about it all this time. Funny how sometimes you worry a lot about something and it turns out to be nothing.”
― R.J. Palacio, Wonder

Friendship Pearls

"A pearl is a beautiful thing that is produced by an injured life. It is the tear that results from the injury of the oyster. The treasure of our being in this world is also produced by an injured life. If we had not been wounded, if we had not been injured, then we will not produce the pearl."

~Stephan Hoeller

This is the quote that comes to mind when I'm thinking of friends going through a hard time... So many of them are having a really hard time, because of others picking on them, annoying them, etc. It's hard to see them struggling with these problems. I wish I could just envelope them in a bubble, whisk away all their problems, and protect them from further issues.

The thing I wish they knew most is that they are a pearl. They are a treasure to so many people. They are so worth it. They are a treasure to ME. We all have those times where life throws us lemons, and obstacles. But those obstacles are just an obstacle course that we can beat. and once we've beaten that course, the lemons can be made into lemonade to refresh us. It's all a matter of perspective, and it will help us in the times and struggles that lay before us.
If you remember that you're a pearl and can beat the tests, than you're more than half way there.

You can do it my pearls! <3

Spring, Seniors, Rain, and Flowers...Hurrah!

Tis the Season Spring, Seniors, Rain, and Flowers...Hurrah!

Caps off to the Graduates!

To all the Graduates I know and love I say to you these Irish Blessings:

"May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand. "

"May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer."

Wishing good Luck to Graduates all around the globe & wishing them good fortune, and happiness in all of their life's decisions. =)

Vagabonding!

Vagabonding. A burning desire you feel deep inside yourself for something more, something different. A need to see different places, touch their culture, inhale their way of life and walk a path not often traveled.

When I first thought about vagabonding and traveling all over the world on foot, I though "No, I can't do that, there's too many dangers! I would end up dead!" Since then, I've looked around me, and seen that there are always dangers wherever you go, some more serious or imposing than others, but always there, nonetheless. When I walk down the street, I take the risk of being hit by a car. When I eat food at a restaurant, I risk eating contaminated food. Merely sleeping in my bed at night, I could entangle myself in a blanket and suffocate! But When I take certain precautions, I live to see another day ;) So Why shouldn't vagabonding be the same?

Have you ever found yourself feeling a longing? Or feel like you are toting around an empty purpose in a meaningless life? Have you ever desired to follow a road or path are far as it goes, or dance along the rails of an abandoned train track? If you have, you know EXACTLY how I feel.

I want to touch the culture of others, and see how they live day to day. I want to laugh in the rain in Ireland, and feel the warmth of the sun on my back in Egypt. Touch the Eiffel Tower, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Try Italian cheese & wine. So many things I want to do, try, touch, smell, learn. =)
For now, while I wait to begin my travels, I will be content with planning, and saving, but someday. Someday I'm going to travel! ;) :)

Medieval Flags ;)

I just randomly decided to look up medieval flags, and I found some really neat ones... I especially love the green flag with the Celtic like symbol, and the color of the blue one =)

The Disney Princess's as never before seen!

I found this while (what else!) pinning on Pinterest... I never thought of what a "Real live" Disney Princess might look like...  Personally, I love how they captured both the Princesses and their outfits... although Snow White and Pocahontas could be done a little better... =)

Christmas, Music, Craziness!

Christmas, Music, and Craziness! That sums up my last couple of weeks!

Christmas is just one week away! Well, alright, a week and a DAY away... But still, it's almost here! It feels like time is just FLYING by! Just a couple of weeks ago, it was the 4th of July... Wasn't it???

We've been busy putting together gift packs for family and friends, and delivering them! (or Playing Santa as I prefer to think of it) ;)

Music is for all the Christmas carols that are being sung at our house! Me and my siblings will randomly break into song, at the slightest mention of a word in a song. For example: "It's supposed to Snow sometime next week" Which means we break out into something along the lines of: Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!!!
soft animated falling snow Images
OR:
(Snow still being the keyword here)

"Outside the snow is falling
and friends are calling “Yoo hoo,”
Come on, it’s lovely weather
for a sleigh ride together with you."

Yep, we love Christmas time!

And it finally feels like Christmas time (and just in time too!), because it FINALLY SNOWED!!!!!

"I'mmmm dreaminnnggg of a White Christmas!" ;)

I don't know about you, but I have some Christmas gifts that need some wrapping love...

So, off I go!

Merry Christmas one and all!

~Annabeth

"Just hear those sleigh bells jingling,

ring ting tingling too

Come on, it’s lovely weather

for a sleigh ride together with you,

Outside the snow is falling

and friends are calling “Yoo hoo,”

Come on, it’s lovely weather

for a sleigh ride together with you.

Giddy yap, giddy yap, giddy yap,

let’s go, Let’s look at the show,

We’re riding in a wonderland of snow.

Giddy yap, giddy yap, giddy yap,

it’s grand, Just holding your hand,

We’re gliding along with a song

of a wintry fairy land.

Our cheeks are nice and rosy

and comfy cozy are we

We’re snuggled up together

like two birds of a feather would be

Let’s take that road before us

and sing a chorus or two

Come on, it’s lovely weather

for a sleigh ride together with you.

There’s a birthday party

at the home of Farmer Gray

It’ll be the perfect ending a perfect day

We’ll be singing the songs

we love to sing without a single stop,

At the fireplace while we watch

the chestnuts pop. Pop! pop! pop!

There’s a happy feeling

nothing in the world can buy,

When they pass around the chocolate

and the pumpkin pie

It’ll nearly be like a picture print

by Currier and Ives

These wonderful things are the things

we remember all through our lives!

of a wintry fairy land

Our cheeks are nice and rosy

and comfy cozy are we

We’re snuggled up together

like two birds of a feather would be

Let’s take that road before us

and sing a chorus or two

Come on, it’s lovely weather

for a sleigh ride together with you."
