Christmas, Music, Craziness!

Christmas, Music, and Craziness! That sums up my last couple of weeks!

Christmas is just one week away! Well, alright, a week and a DAY away... But still, it's almost here! It feels like time is just FLYING by! Just a couple of weeks ago, it was the 4th of July... Wasn't it???

We've been busy putting together gift packs for family and friends, and delivering them! (or Playing Santa as I prefer to think of it) ;)

Music is for all the Christmas carols that are being sung at our house! Me and my siblings will randomly break into song, at the slightest mention of a word in a song. For example: "It's supposed to Snow sometime next week" Which means we break out into something along the lines of: Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!!!
soft animated falling snow Images
OR:
(Snow still being the keyword here)

"Outside the snow is falling
and friends are calling “Yoo hoo,”
Come on, it’s lovely weather
for a sleigh ride together with you."

Yep, we love Christmas time!

And it finally feels like Christmas time (and just in time too!), because it FINALLY SNOWED!!!!!

"I'mmmm dreaminnnggg of a White Christmas!" ;)

I don't know about you, but I have some Christmas gifts that need some wrapping love...

So, off I go!

Merry Christmas one and all!

~Annabeth

"Just hear those sleigh bells jingling,

ring ting tingling too

Come on, it’s lovely weather

for a sleigh ride together with you,

Outside the snow is falling

and friends are calling “Yoo hoo,”

Come on, it’s lovely weather

for a sleigh ride together with you.

Giddy yap, giddy yap, giddy yap,

let’s go, Let’s look at the show,

We’re riding in a wonderland of snow.

Giddy yap, giddy yap, giddy yap,

it’s grand, Just holding your hand,

We’re gliding along with a song

of a wintry fairy land.

Our cheeks are nice and rosy

and comfy cozy are we

We’re snuggled up together

like two birds of a feather would be

Let’s take that road before us

and sing a chorus or two

Come on, it’s lovely weather

for a sleigh ride together with you.

There’s a birthday party

at the home of Farmer Gray

It’ll be the perfect ending a perfect day

We’ll be singing the songs

we love to sing without a single stop,

At the fireplace while we watch

the chestnuts pop. Pop! pop! pop!

There’s a happy feeling

nothing in the world can buy,

When they pass around the chocolate

and the pumpkin pie

It’ll nearly be like a picture print

by Currier and Ives

These wonderful things are the things

we remember all through our lives!

of a wintry fairy land

Our cheeks are nice and rosy

and comfy cozy are we

We’re snuggled up together

like two birds of a feather would be

Let’s take that road before us

and sing a chorus or two

Come on, it’s lovely weather

for a sleigh ride together with you."

♥ Friends and their amazing friendship ♥

Ok, so I decided to post a few friendship quotes and poems, because I'm just feeling really appreciative of my awesome friends, both ones I've lost contact with for a while, the ones who've been there night and day for me, and every other friend I've ever made! <3
I love them all! =D

I don't know for sure if these quotes are all credited to the right person, but I loved them, so I thought I'd still post them. If you find one credited to the wrong person, please feel free to comment with the right person, and I'll change it! =D

             Priceless Friend

Whenever I stumble
Whenever I fall
Whenever I need a friend
You always answer my call

You are always there for me
You’ve never let me down
You’ve always shown sincerity
Eased my fears and erased my frown

You are a priceless friend
One I dearly value
And I am so thankful
For everything you do

           Dear Sweet Friend

You are a dear sweet friend
One that I adore
You’re there when I need you
And so much more

And I pray that God
Always has you in his sight
Guiding and looking after you
Morning, noon, and night

For all the goodness
and all love that you share
You deserve all the blessings
That the Lord can spare

Thank you for being a giving soul
You are the most thoughtful
And caring person I know

            A Wish For You

I made a wish for you
Upon the brightest star

That angels in heaven
Will watch over you,
No matter where you are

For you I also wished,
Health, peace and happiness
And a lifetime of dreams come true
Because I’ve found a wonderful friend in you!

Baking Madness, or it the Fall air? ;)

I don't know about you all out there, but I think I've been infested with a Baking bug! I can't seem to stop! Pumpkin doughnuts, breads, yeast rolls (prize winning yeast rolls! ;) ), cookies, and other sweets! I don't know about you, and if you love baking, but one thing about myself, is thatb I LOVE IT. Don't get me wrong, there are time where I REALLYYYYYYYY don't want to make that bread, or those cookies, but that's usually because I don't feel in a mood to eat them, let alone make them. haha =D

I'm looking forward to Apple picking sometime soon, and making some Apple:  Pies, Bread, Butter (yes, I did find a recipe!!), and Crisp! =D YUM!

I've also been having fun thinking up gift basket ideas for different people. I didn't relize how much fun it would be! =D Lotions, teas, mugs, all sorts of goodies! =D It's fun trying to think of what the different people would like, what colors they like, etc. It's really really fun! =D Now, I just need to find a container I like, stock up on a couple more things, and then it shall be done! =D

Tis the season of Fall! =)

Country, Fall, school, gotta have it all! ;)

It's official! There's fall in the air! Today is beautiful, but just a tad nippy! Breezy, cool, Acorns pinging off the car (and Neighbor's roof!), leaves are starting to fall (oh dear!!), Sweatshirts, jeans, and Country music!

It would appear as though everything I was dreading a few days ago (Fall, school, youth group, etc.) Is actually perfect! I'm going to miss the summer air, swimming, etc.... But I also love the fall baking, the crisp air, sweatshirts, jeans, being with other people, etc. It's all beautiful in it's own way!

Still adjusting to a few things, but all in all, Life is good! =D

The Plague that goes by the name of... School...

It has officially come down upon our household! The horrible, the deadly, the enemy of all things fun, the evil plague that goes by the name of... SCHOOL. It has struck again! Just as we were getting the last of it out of our system from the LAST time it struck! Whoa be to anyone suffering from this plague! The many symptoms include: sleeping in odd positions over text books, un-explainable headaches, Brain aches from an over-dose of information, yawning, homework, missing pencils, un-explainable urges to jump up and down and scream at the top of your lungs, the un-explainable urge to have a huge bonfire (with some sort of paper as a fire starter), messy desks, and so many other DANGEROUS symptoms! The worst news of all is, the only way it seems curable is by the Summer winds! Until the summer winds blow, there seems to be no stop to the Disaster of School!! The best you can do it batten down the hatches, and hope you can master the ups an downs of this plague... I wish all of those suffering under it's evil hand the best of luck in their fight against it!
And now I must leave to go and try to relieve myself of one of the worst of it's symptoms (homework!)
Good luck in your own fights! I will keep you updated through out the year how the fight against the plague is going!

Till then...
Annabeth

*Disclaimer*
I am just having some fun describing school in this way. I have nothing against school, and realize it's importance in my life, in everything I do. =) Thank you for reading!

Autumn Fires-Robert Louis Stevenson

Autumn Fires
by
Robert Louis Stevenson
In the other gardens
And all up the vale,
From the autumn bonfires
See the smoke trail!

Pleasant summer over
And all the summer flowers,
The red fire blazes,
The grey smoke towers.

Sing a song of seasons!
Something bright in all!
Flowers in the summer,
Fires in the fall!

Fall time in no time!

I can't believe fall is just around the corner! Nooo! Not yet! I'm still in summer(ish) mode! You know, swimming, shorts, tank tops... SUMMER! But, once school starts (in 2 days), it will be officially (by school terms that is) done... So I'm trying very hard to cope with Fall being (almost) here already!
I'm ok with being able to open windows, take pictures of the BEAUTIFUL scenery, the crisp (fresh!) air, the holidays, the Apple and Pumpkin picking (YUM!), SOME of the baking ;) , Bonfires, and SMORES!!! =D Among other things.   ;)

I'm not sure I'm ready for everything else that comes with fall though. The raking of leaves, the coming of winter, the bare trees (bare trees are just kinda depressing...), no more swimming, school, having to stay inside more (because it's much chillier) etc.

Just like every other season (but maybe winter), I'm a bit unwilling to let go of this season, and enter the next one. But when the next season gets here, I'm almost always glad... =)

A Wave- Gussie Osborne

A Wave
by
Gussie Osborne

I sat on the beach and a beautiful wave
Came tumbling right up to me.
It threw some pink shells on the sand at my feet,
Then hurried straight back out to sea.
It ran away swiftly and leaped up in foam;
It bumped other waves in its glee.
I think it was hurrying to gather more shells,
To bring as a present for me.

School of Minnows-Jane Keefer Frey

School of Minnows
by
Jane Keefer Frey
Down in the brook where the water runs cool—
That's where the minnows are going to school!
What do they study, I wonder, and then,
When do they get to go home again?
Schools for the fish aren't like mine, I guess—
No teachers or blackboards or books—just recess!
When Daddy says, "Look! School of minnows there, Son!"
It sure looks to me like they're just having fun!

It will take tears and time...

Sometimes life just doesn't go as planned. Things happen, people move in and out of your life, some things end, and some begin. Some things just continue on.

Well, today has been one of those days where NOTHING seems to be going right in my life. It feels like everything is pressing down on me. School starting, Aunt moving furthur away, buissness is not going as I hoped, having major allergies (ragweed), missing camp, not looking forward to youth group starting, and all around feeling like breaking down and crying, and Dreary weather is not helping much...

It will take tears and time till I'm ok again, but I'll be ok eventually...

Sometimes finding the positive in things is VERY difficult, that's for sure.

The Magic of Music!

It's amazing what music can do for someone! There are so many times I've just needed to lose sight of my problems for a little while, and music always presents that escape... While I may begin my "escape" feeling angry or frustrated at myself, I can leave my escape feeling happy, as if there's something or someone out there totally worth living/waiting for... =) Lately my favorite CD is so totally Up all Night-One Direction... The beats are AMAZING, the singers are adorable, the songs are so relatable... I like to crank up the music and sing... It just helps in a way I can't describe.   =)

Another thing that seems to help me is imagining the ocean. I don't know why it helps me, especially because I've only been to an ocean beach a couple of times. I imagine the sun right before it's starts setting (before the sunset colors in the sky), with the sun reflecting off the water. Sometimes I imagine the water still, and other times, I see it as waves. As weird as it sounds, I've always felt like I had a connection to the sea/ocean/Lakes.

Today's been one of those days I just need to escape! =)

Hug O'War~Shel Silverstein

Hug O'War
~Shel Silverstein~

I will not play at tug o' war.
I'd rather play at hug o' war,
Where everyone hugs
Instead of tugs,
Where everyone giggles
And rolls on the rug,
Where everyone kisses,
And everyone grins,
And everyone cuddles,
And everyone wins.

I just had to repost this one. It was too cute not too! =)

Back to school daze...

I can't believe school is about to start up again! It seems like this summer has flown by... and in about a week, school starts again... That just doesn't seem fair! I feel like there's so much I need to accomplish before school, so many things I haven't done, etc...

I'm also a little stressed, because this year is the year I need to figure out what I'm doing... Do I want to be a photographer, do I want to work with children (and if so, what profession/area? Teacher? Daycare? Orphanage?), do I want to work with animals ( animal trainer? pet shop worker/owner? Vet? Breeder? Rancher? Farmer?), Food/sweets (Baker/Work in a bakery? Chef? Candy store? Culinary arts?), Books/Writer ( Librarian? Author? Poet? Bookstore: owner, or worker? Journalist?) etc. There is so much to choose from... I feel like Barry from the Bee Movie... So many choices, but I don't want to be bogged down with just ONE thing for the rest of my life... I want to have freedom to do what I want... I also don't think I can stand being in an office, cooped up, ALL day long. I need to be able to walk around, be able to talk without feeling like I'm on speaker, etc. I can't stand being in offices that are so quiet you can LITERALLY hear a pin drop, you can even hear the employees BREATHING. HECK, you can hear their heart beat!!! No, definitely NOT for me...
So, among many other things, I need to try and pin point what ONE thing I want to do with my life... It will be difficult for sure!
I'm trying to make a goal list for this upcoming year... Kinda like New Year's Resolutions, but in this case, Back to School Resolutions...

1. Work more on my blog! I need to focuse more on keeping my blog updated!

2. Work on keeping my Etsy shop updated! I need to figure out prices, and all that fun stuff! ;)

3. Learn to live more funly! ;)

4. Try to complete some things on my "bucket list"

5. Try to complete some things I've started over the past year, and have just never finished... That crocheted purse I started 2 years ago, those latched hook pillows I started (and almost finished!) from 2-5 years ago, severeal stories, etc. You get the idea ;)

6. Convince my parents I need a couple of girl's day out with A.) My Aunt and B.) My best Friend... I can't believe it's been over a year since I had a "Girl's Day" with my Aunt! Actually, it's been exactly 1 year, 1 month, 2 weeks, 6 days, OR 417 days! Need to remedy that soon! =)

7. VISIT THE MALL... ;)

8. Actually do some of the things I pin on my Pinterest boards! ;)

But for now, I must be heading off... Saphira is warning me to get off ;)

Summer Stars - Carl Sandburg

Summer Stars
by
Carl Sandburg
BEND low again, night of summer stars.
So near you are, sky of summer stars,
So near, a long arm man can pick off stars,
Pick off what he wants in the sky bowl,
So near you are, summer stars,
So near, strumming, strumming,
So lazy and hum-strumming.

starry-night

The Rules For Being Human

1. You will recieve a body

You may like it or hate it, but it will be yours for the entire period of this time around

2. You will learn lessons.

You are enrolled in full-time informal school called Life. Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons or think them irrevelant and stupid.

3. There are no mistakes, only lessons.

Growth is a process of trial and error: Experimentation. The "failed" experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiment that ultimately "works"

4. A lesson is repeated until learned.

A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can then go on to the next lesson.

5. Learning lessons does not end.

There is no part of life that does not contain it's lessons. If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.

6. "There" is no better that "here".

When your "there" has become a "here",  you will simply obtain another "there" that will again look better that "here".

7. Others are merely mirrors of yourself.

You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects something you love or hate about yourself.

8. What  you make of your life is up to you.

You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.

9. Your answers lie inside you.

The answers to Life's questions lie inside of you. All you need is to look, listen, and trust.

10. You will forget all this.

My kind of Music!

I've just decided to post some songs I love. Some I've found from Disney (and have loved since I saw them!), some are ones I have heard on the radio, and others are friend's recommendations.
I've also put a couple of notes with the songs...

Once Upon a December-Disney
I love the tune of this song, because it's so haunting, and yet beautiful...When I first heard it (when I first watched Anastasia) I didn't like it very much... In fact it scared me (I have no idea why...), but When I watched Anastasia again a couple of years ago, it struck me how beautiful the song was...
I've loved it since =)

One Step At a Time-Jordan Sparks
This song really speaks to me, because I find myself constantly feeling like all the doors are slamming in my face. And like everything I want to do is so close, and I can almost grab it, but not quite...

Enchanted-Taylor Swift
I love this song, because it is also beautiful, and haunting, like "Once Upon a December" (Only better!) I love the story it tells. So often we don't say something to someone we should have. In this case, the girl didn't tell the guy "she was enchanted to meet him" and now she's wondering forever if he was enchanted to meet her, and who does he love. This song is a gentle reminder of how, if we meet someone we're enchanted by, don't just sit back and let opportunity slip by. Say something, and grab the chance you've been given!

I Won't say I'm in Love-Meg/Disney/Hercules
This one I decided I had to put, because since I first saw it, this has probably been the Disney song I love best! I liked it at first because of the beat, but now I love it because the beat AND words. It's so easy to understand what she's saying! She doesn't want to admit she's in love, because by doing that she's risking being hurt (in her case, again). One of the hardest things about love is there is always a chance you might get hurt... but sometimes you need to take that chance!

Music Video Possibilities, and other things...

Ok, so recently I've decided I want to make a music video... and I've been putting a lot of thought into what song I'd like to make it to. I think I've narrowed it down to a couple Taylor Swift ones (Enchanted, You Belong with Me, or possibly Hey Stephen) and a Selena Gomez one (Who Says). I also thought about "Never Grow Up", because that would be fairly simple to put together, and I'd be able to use my siblings =)
I want to chose a song that would be fairly simple to put together, and doesn't require a whole lot of people, because the more people there are the more complicated it gets for everything...
That, and I'm not sure where I'd get a lot of people to help out in it! =) Not without paying them, that is ;) =) I want to do this for fun =) I'm thinking about writing a short story or something that my siblings can perform, and maybe make a little mini series type thing of it? Again, just something for fun! I want to touch up on filming techniques and photography anyways! And this would give me good practice! Wish me Luck! =D

My pet Guinea pigs-Love at first sight! =D

One of my interests is my pets: 5 beautiful Guinea pigs (2 boys, and 3 girls).
My original 3 guinea pigs were rehomed pigs. Pinny (the original girl) and Mystery (The first boy, even though we got the other boy a little later in the day) were rehomed to us together...They were never seen having... erm, any "attempts" together, and so we assumed she was not pregnant... Then there's Zeus, who is a sweet chubby boy, who has a major attitude! ;) Zeus was in a poor way, as the little boy who had had him before was rough with him, and didn't really care about him (thus, his mother put an ad out to re home him, and we answered first). Then on July 9th 2011 (actually the same day I went to visit my Aunt for a girl's day!) at like 6am, out popped 4 baby girls from Pinny! We had figured out about 4 weeks previous to her giving birth that she was in fact pregnant! We still own all 4 baby girls who are named: Teardrop (because she would rest in your hand in a teardrop shape), Jersey (because she looks like a Jersey cow ;) ), Tiffany (because she looked so small and gentle, like Tiffany's items), and Mischief (She's the one I chose for myself, and she was named Mischief, because as soon as she was born and cleaned off, she was hopping around and exploring that cage (and getting into mischief! ;) )! Then my last girl is Mischief's daughter (Pinny and Mystery's grand-daughter).
Pinny is black and red colored, with a white cowlick on her head.
Mystery is a stunningly gorgeous Black and white longhair.
Zeus is a Blonde and white short hair (and his hair is bristle-like, no joke!) =D
Mischief is a mainly white piggy, she has a white/black cowlick on her head, with a black stripe, and a Red patch over one of her eyes. Her other eye has a small black circle over, kinda like eyeshadow!
Then there's Emily Pearl, Mischief's daughter, who is all black, with a crest on her head as well...
They are all beautiful in their own way!
Although, Zeus is by far the most jealous... If you say Hi to ANY of the other pig before you say Hi to him, he will chitter at you (their way of telling you off), turn around and show you his butt... yet, if you say Hi to him first, he'll make his bubble noises, and (if you pick him up) give you kisses (lick your chin) =)
I love them! They're all cuddlers, and very sweet! =)

This is my Mystery-Isn't he adorable?! =)

I'd post pictures of the other 4 piggies too, but I don't have any of them saved on the computer, except a very blurry one of Zeus, and this stunning one of Mystery =)

Nikon Coolpix Review =)

This is the Nikon Coolpix S4100 14 MP Plum! I bought mine last year in November, and I absolutely love it! It takes amazing CRISP shots, at amazing distances! It has like 20 different screen mode settings, including Black and White, Fireworks, Portrait, Landscape, Sports, Sunset/Sunrise, Close ups, and many more... I absolutely love it! It can also take video, and although this camera is not the greatest one out there, it's definitely one of the best ones you can get! At a fairly decent price too! I've done a whole lot with mine, taking pictures at family gatherings, parties, outside, inside, etc. The only downfall I've been able to find with this camera, is it doesn't do good inside HUGE badly lit areas. (Inside a theater, a play house, gyms, etc.) It's does superbly in every other areas, but is lacking in that one particular area... =)
I can say I'm thrilled with my camera, and expect to get a lot more years of excellent pictures from it! =)

SOME Facts about Me =)

"We are gather here in the presence of Blogger to witness the reading of the "SOME Facts about Me" blog post..." ;)
1. I'm silly! as the above blerp tells you ;)
2. I LOVE taking picture! I am always looking for all those picture perfect moments!
3. I love kids!
4. I know without doubt I want to be a wife and mother someday (and in that order!) I know it won't be all sunshine and roses, but there's something about meeting someone, and falling in love with them, and sharing the good (and bad times too) with them... growing old with someone you love, and holding a child, born because of it's parent's love for each other...and being able to look at that child and be able to say that's MY child, whom I love and adore...It holds a great deal of appeal to me! =) It's something I've always known I want to be, and I hope it's something I will be! =)
5. I'm a tomboy slash girly girl... I like to wear girly/frilly tops, but I like to wear my blue jeans (which fade because of use, not because of fashion). I really don't like skirts all that much, and have to have a really good reason to wear them, and I've only just re-discovered necklaces, as there was a period of time where I wanted nothing to do with necklaces... My tomboy side saw them more as nooses than necklaces ;) =)
6. I. LOVE. MUSIC! =) Everything from Taylor Swift, to Michael Jackson, to Kenny Chesney, to some of Lady Gaga, to One Direction, and yes, even though most of the population doesn't like Justin Bieber, I like some of his music too... Disclaimer: I do not like HIM, I like his SONGS (big difference!) =) I have nothin against the guy, just not much into his looks...
7. I'm a people watcher... I love watching people! I watch people at youth group, at home, in the store, every where I go =) I love making people smile, and laugh, and helping people out! =)
8. I need to be going shortly haha ;)
9. I'm REALLY bad at keeping up on my blogs.. What's sad is I keep up on this one, more than my other one, which means it's been more than a month and a half since I posted in that one (actually, probably since May... yikes!) and I'm going to try to keep up on them more often! =)

What's up and coming from the blog... ;)

Hey all!
Ok, first and foremost, I want to apologize about not keeping up on this blog... I've been trying to think of something I could write about, and I kept coming up blank... So, I asked my friends, and Aunt about some ideas, and they came up with some pretty decent ones! =D

1. My interests
2. Fashion
3. Crochet creations
4. Music
5. Film
6. Books
7. Hello Kitty haha ;)
8. Stores in the area
9. Landmarks I love
10. WOL Island Camp
11. What ever pops up first under the Abc's in Google (Example: A-Amazon, B-Best Buy, etc. ) =)

So, I'll try to post as often as I can, but I can't make promises! =)

Off to write the next blog post! ;D

Happy Independence Day!!

It's that time of year again! Where everyone in the USA celebrates our Independence "Birthday"!!!

When people think of Independence Day, they tend to think of Barbeque's, Parties, fireworks, and parades. It's a fun time for the whole nation. =) But I think we should also remember the soldiers who fought/fight/will fight for that freedom, and had the courage to fight to be free =) And also the soldiers that continue to fight for our nation! =)

So thank you all who have fought/fight/will fight for our nation =)

Happy Independence Day! =)

Dark Days

Ever have those days where they start out good, but as the day progresses, you just wish you had stayed in bed? You'll be doing your own thing, and then the black, inky fog descends. So much for the day...
While the darkness may not be depression, it still has many similarities to depression. For example: Feeling unproductive, un-cared about, ignored, etc.
It can be triggered by the rain, or anything linked to a sad memory.
It's those days when this fog descends that you have to fight the hardest, to try and keep your head above water ( or in this case, the fog). If you don't, it's quite possible, even probable that it could turn into depression.
Today's been a bit of something like that for me today... I think it has something to do with the rain...

Stress...

Stress: Something that we all deal with at some point in our lives. Sometimes I have to wonder why that feeling was every created...

Unfortunately, that is one of the feelings that have been bopping around in my head. In fact, right now it is threatening to suffocate any other feelings I am having...
It seems like so much is going on, with little or no time to complete those things. And forget about enjoying anything... There just seems to be a lack of time!

Sometimes, I wish I could just find a quiet nook in the woods, and just ignore everyone and everything until *I* feel like coming out, and chose which one of my problems I want to deal with. Unfortunately that is not how life works... Why does it have to be so cruel at times?! -_-

I want a hug...and in the same moment I want to slap someone. Hard. And cry. and have another hug...

I want to blow up stress with a nuclear bomb too.

I hate being a teenager... -_-

Fiddler on the Roof-"Matchmaker, Matchmaker" and "If I was a Rich Man"

Ok, I admit it... I have had Fiddler on the Roof songs bouncing around in my head all day... =D Everything from Sunrise, Sunset to "If I were a Rich Man" to Matchmaker, Matchmaker. I guess I know what I'll be watching sometime soon! =) I'm so glad things have changed from back then! I don't have to worry about being "stuck for good" because a matchmaker found me the perfect match... I get to be my own matchmaker...I get to decide for myself who *I* want to marry. After all, it wouldn't be the matchmaker having to live with him, now would it? So happy I live in a different time... =) I want to marry for love, not because my family background, or because my Dad/the matchmaker thinks we would look great together... ;)

Matchmaker, Matchmaker

Matchmaker, Matchmaker,
Make me a match,
Find me a find,
catch me a catch
Matchmaker, Matchmaker
Look through your book,
And make me a perfect match

Chava:
Matchmaker, Matchmaker,
I'll bring the veil,
You bring the groom,
Slender and pale.
Bring me a ring for I'm longing to be,
The envy of all I see.

Hodel:
For Papa,
Make him a scholar.

Chava:
For mama,
Make him rich as a king.

Chava and Hodel:
For me, well,
I wouldn't holler
If he were as handsome as anything.

Matchmaker, Matchmaker,
Make me a match,
Find me a find,
Catch me a catch,
Night after night in the dark I'm alone
So find me match,
Of my own.

(spoken)

Tzeitel:
Since when are you in a match, Chava? I thought you had your eye on your books.

(Hodel chuckles)

Tzeitel con't:
And you have your eye on the Rabbi's son.

Hodel:
Well, why not?
We have only one Rabbi and he has only one son.
Why shouldn't I want the best?

Tzeitel:
Because you're a girl from a poor family.
So whatever Yenta brings, you'll take, right?
Of course right!

(throws scarf over her head, imitating Yenta)
(singing)

Hodel, oh Hodel,
Have I made a match for you!
He's handsome, he's young!
Alright, he's 62.
But he's a nice man, a good catch, true?
True.

I promise you'll be happy,
And even if you're not,
There's more to life than that---
Don't ask me what.

Chava, I found him.
Won't you be a lucky bride!
He's handsome, he's tall,
That is from side to side.
But he's a nice man, a good catch, right?
Right.

You heard he has a temper.
He'll beat you every night,
But only when he's sober,
So you'll alright.

Did you think you'd get a prince?
Well I do the best I can.
With no dowry, no money, no family background
Be glad you got a man!

Chava:
Matchmaker, Matchmaker,
You know that I'm
Still very young.
Please, take your time.

Hodel:
Up to this minute,
I misunderstood
That I could get stuck for good.

Chava and Hodel:
Dear Yenta,
See that he's gentle
Remember,
You were also a bride.
It's not that
I'm sentimental

Chava and Hodel and Tzeitel:
It's just that I'm terrified!

Matchmaker, Matchmaker,
Plan me no plans
I'm in no rush
Maybe I've learned
Playing with matches
A girl can get burned
So,
Bring me no ring
Groom me no groom
Find me no find
Catch me no catch
Unless he's a matchless match.

(the song starts about 1:34)
If I were a Rich Man

[TEVYE]
'Dear God, you made many, many poor people.
I realize, of course, that it's no shame to be poor.
But it's no great honor either!
So, what would have been so terrible if I had a small fortune?'
If I were a rich man,
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
All day long I'd biddy biddy bum.
If I were a wealthy man.
I wouldn't have to work hard.
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
If I were a biddy biddy rich,
Yidle-diddle-didle-didle man.

I'd build a big tall house with rooms by the dozen,
Right in the middle of the town.
A fine tin roof with real wooden floors below.
There would be one long staircase just going up,
And one even longer coming down,
And one more leading nowhere, just for show.

I'd fill my yard with chicks and turkeys and geese and ducks
For the town to see and hear.
And each loud 'cheep' and 'swaqwk' and 'honk' and 'quack'
Would land like a trumpet on the ear,
As if to say 'Here lives a wealthy man.'

If I were a rich man,
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
All day long I'd biddy biddy bum.
If I were a wealthy man.
I wouldn't have to work hard.
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
If I were a biddy biddy rich,
Yidle-diddle-didle-didle man.

I see my wife, my Golde, looking like a rich man's wife
With a proper double-chin.
Supervising meals to her heart's delight.
I see her putting on airs and strutting like a peacock.
Oy, what a happy mood she's in.
Screaming at the servants, day and night.

The most important men in town would come to fawn on me!
They would ask me to advise them,
Like a Solomon the Wise.
'If you please, Reb Tevye...'
'Pardon me, Reb Tevye...'
Posing problems that would cross a rabbi's eyes!
And it won't make one bit of difference if i answer right or wrong.
When you're rich, they think you really know!

If I were rich, I'd have the time that I lack
To sit in the synagogue and pray.
And maybe have a seat by the Eastern wall.
And I'd discuss the holy books with the learned men, several hours every day.
That would be the sweetest thing of all.

If I were a rich man,
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
All day long I'd biddy biddy bum.
If I were a wealthy man.
I wouldn't have to work hard.
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
If I were a biddy biddy rich,
Yidle-diddle-didle-didle man.
